Asia Pharma Expo 2025, held from February 12–14 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka, brought together over 800 exhibitors from 32 countries, showcasing innovations across pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, APIs, lab tech, and cleanroom systems. Co-located with the Asia Lab Expo, the event covered over 235,000 square feet and attracted more than 12,000 trade visitors, including top executives, R&D professionals, and regulatory authorities.
The inauguration featured senior government officials and industry leaders emphasizing the growth potential of Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical sector, which currently fulfills 98% of domestic demand and exports to over 150 countries. With the sector projected to exceed $6 billion by 2025, the expo highlighted the importance of technology adoption, self-sufficiency in API production, and global partnerships.
A significant focus was on Bangladesh’s evolving pharma infrastructure, including the upcoming API Industrial Park near Dhaka and benefits from TRIPS waiver provisions allowing production of patented medicines until 2033. The expo served as a strategic platform for investment, contract manufacturing, and technology transfer.
Backed by BAPI, GPE Expo, and government bodies, Asia Pharma Expo 2025 reinforced Bangladesh’s position as an emerging global pharmaceutical manufacturing hub and provided a dynamic environment for collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth.
